1. If It Bleeds

If It Bleeds

Author: Stephen King

Publisher Description

A collection of four uniquely wonderful long stories, including a stand-alone sequel to The Outsider. News people have a saying: ‘If it bleeds, it leads’. And a bomb at Albert Macready Middle School is guaranteed to lead any bulletin. Holly Gibney of the Finders Keepers detective agency is working on the case of a missing dog – and on her own need to be more assertive – when she sees the footage on TV. But when she tunes in again, to the late-night report, she realizes there is something not quite right about the correspondent who was first on the scene. So begins ‘If It Bleeds’ , a stand-alone sequel to The Outsider featuring the incomparable Holly on her first solo case.

Dancing alongside are three more long stories – ‘Mr Harrigan’s Phone’, ‘The Life of Chuck’ and ‘Rat’ .

The novella is a form King has returned to over and over again in the course of his amazing career, and many have been made into iconic films, If It Bleeds is a uniquely satisfying collection of longer short fiction by an incomparably gifted writer.

Why You Have to Read This

It is a great installment from Stephen King. The book is written from the high-quality stories of arguably the premier writer of the age. As always, Stephen King will not disappoint you with this one. It is highly recommended for everyone. There are more novels in this book than stories, which is very satisfying to the readers and book lovers. You can finish it in one go as it is a short read. The story is also interesting and likes a compact. The Outsider also focusing on Holly’s personal life and showing how much she has changed.

Those who are loving King for a long time will appreciate the reappearance of Holly Gibney as it is one of King’s most interesting characters. She was in the Bill Hodges trilogy, and OUTSIDER, and now this collection. I’m sure everyone will love this story.

But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name.

Why You Have to Read This

The word journey best describes this book. If you want to buy this novel because of a killer clown, you will be surprised after buying as you have no idea what you’re getting into.

This book is gorgeous. This novel gave me pleasure. It gave me hope, made me feel more optimistic about life. And you would also like the “horror” scenes. The book’s main point is about the special abilities and powers that children have and that adults do not have. Whatever, it is a great story for both children and adults.

If you haven’t read this book, read it now. If you have read it, by all means, read it again. It will thrill and delight and horrify and frighten you all over again.
This is a wonderful book that everyone should read at least once, I think.

Half a continent away and two decades later, someone is murdering families again, recreating in detail Blackwood’s crimes. Homicide detective John Calvino is certain that his own family—his wife and three children—will be targets in the fourth crime, just as his parents and sisters were victims on that distant night when he was fourteen and killed their slayer.

Here is ghost story like no other you have read. In the Calvinos, Dean Koontz brings to life a family that might be your own, in a war for their survival against an adversary more malevolent than any he has yet created, with their own home the battleground. Of all his acclaimed novels, none exceeds What the Night Knows in power, in chilling suspense, and in sheer mesmerizing storytelling.

Another amazing writing of Steven Weber. If you ever read this, you must Think that you had already read this book as it is related to reality and real facts. So, you would think you already know the story while reading it. That’s why it is somewhat different than other books by this author. So, if you read it, you will get different feelings.

I like Dean Koontz, and I wanted to like this novel as much as I’ve enjoyed many of his past works over the last few years. This is also good writing of this writer.
This short story had great pacing, solid character development, and some very creepy moments. So, I think most of you will love it.

5. Home: Myron Bolitar Series

Home Myron Bolitar Series

Author: Harlan Coben

Publisher Description

Ten years after the high-profile kidnapping of two young boys, only one returns home in Harlan Coben’s gripping Myron Bolitar thriller.

A decade ago, kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced. For ten years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally, miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend Win believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for ten years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken? And most critically: What can he tell Myron and Win about the fate of his missing friend? Drawing on his singular talent, Harlan Coben delivers an explosive and deeply moving thriller about friendship, family, and the meaning of home.

Why You Have to Read This

If you have read the previous books of this writer, then you would say HOME was good after reading it.
The story is about a 10-year-old kidnapping involving Win’s cousin’s son. Win gets a new lead and heads to London to see if he can find the missing boy. He gets himself in a bit of a situation and calls his best friend Myron to fly over and lend his assistance. Of course, this story takes on twists and turns. The writer did a great job bringing in Esperanza and Big Cyndi to help with the search. Whatever, the story is great. It is full of twists. So, you would like this story.

I have read every book that Harlan Coben has written and his latest book; I just think this novel was not up to his usual
cliff hanger. He embellished a bit too much on the scenery, cities, homes, landscapes, etc. But I love his books, and I am anxiously waiting for his next book.

I love Harlan Coben and was very excited when I got his new book. It did not disappoint. The story was captivating, which didn’t have any dull moments. The characters were all well developed. Harlan was present in the story, and Myron Bolitar made a guest appearance!

Harlen Coben was one of our best late 20th-century suspense writers. He became known for his middleweight Myron Bolitar series, which was very enjoyable. Whatever this writing of him is also enjoyable as it is full of twists and surprises.
